EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – One organization in the Tri-State is hoping to teach children about sharing.
4 Good Community has set up pop up shops in Evansville and Henderson. Children can pick out three gifts for free – one to keep for themselves and two to give to others.
The stores are open to children between 3 and 17.
4 Good Community’s director of development, Kyle Duckworth, says it’s important to teach this new generation the importance of generosity so we can change our world for the better.
”So the purpose of this center is really to plant seeds of generosity. The world is full of takers,” he says. “‘What can I get? What can I get?’ But if we can teach children to give to those, whether a family member or friends, someone at school in need, that’s the real main reason for this center is to get kids educated on what it means to be givers.”
Both store locations take turns operating every weekend.
